Violet Intrigue (LAVANG 21) - Landscaping Ornamental

LAVANG 21 or its commercial name Lavandula angustifolia 'Violet Intrigue' is a very striking ornamental lavender growing anywhere from 50-70cm depending on how one prunes it.

Flower stems are held upright, almost vertical, creating a vase-like impression and are topped with spikes of bright violet flowers. When in flower, this plant cannot be missed. Once started, flowering will continue through to the first frosts.

Suitable as a cut fresh or dried flower, ornamental or hedging plant, 'Violet Intrigue' is sure to impress. Planted en masse or down a driveway, 'Violet Intrigue' makes both a bold and welcoming statement. A sweet fragrance has led to investigation into its essential oil potential and initial testing is most promising at this experimental stage.

Within New Zealand 'Violet Intrigue' is available from Lavender Innovatioz Ltd. and Manakau Village Nurseries.
